Therapeutic Massage a treat that can be calming or stimulating for your dog. Relieving everyday stresses and strains.
Remedial Massage considers the entire animal, not just the specific area that may reflect pain or stiffness. It is a proactive therapy that addresses future health issues and helps with certain problems your dog may already have.
Muscle Function
Remedial massage and myotherapy is effective for muscle and joint function as it eases congestion (usually the cause of shortening within the muscle fibres.)
Strain, stress and injury can cause muscle shortening which affects tendons and joint articulation.
Massage and myotherapy (trigger release) treatment enables the fibres to realign and the muscle to function as it is meant to.
Compensatory issues
Usually this occurs after an injury or period of irregular gait (movement), perhaps due to conditions such as osteo arthritis where the body moves awkwardly to avoid the painful area. This over stresses new areas as your dog walks, runs, jumps and lands differently to compensate.
Eventually this will manifest into chronic problems which may not be apparent for weeks, months or years.
Whether injuries appear serious or minor compensatory soft tissue stress should always be considered and treated as early possible to prevent more serious damage.

Regular Massage
Maintenance check up at least once a year makes a significant difference to most dogs.
Massage should be considered after injury or a period of lameness to speed healing.
Frequent maintenance massage will enable your dog’s therapist to alert you to any issues. Enabling you to modify exercise and training routine to avoid possible future disaster!
